Project Overview
Aburi Hana is Toronto’s only Michelin-starred restaurant, offering a modern Kyō-Kaiseki dining experience by Chef Ryusuke Nakagawa in the heart of Yorkville. Olive Tree Builds was selected to complete a full interior renovation of the intimate, high-design dining space while maintaining the exacting standards required by a world-class hospitality brand.
The Challenge
Renovating a Michelin-starred restaurant requires an exceptional level of precision and finish quality. Every surface, fixture, and detail must meet the aesthetic and operational standards of a world-class dining experience. The Yorkville location also requires careful logistics management given the neighbourhood’s density and limited contractor access.
Our Approach
Olive Tree Builds is executing the renovation with a focus on craftsmanship and detail, coordinating closely with the Aburi Hana team to preserve the restaurant’s design intent while upgrading the space for its next chapter. All trades are being managed under a single general contracting scope to ensure schedule control and finish consistency.
The Outcome
Project currently in progress. Aburi Hana is temporarily closed during the renovation and is expected to reopen upon completion.
